Who Cares When We are Saved?

The cross is not foolishness to Christians.

Just what impact does our salvation make on things? Who pays attention besides those present when we are saved? Are they too busy in heaven to really truly care? 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10 KJV You see, even the angels in heaven care! This verse doesn’t say they rejoice because of the hundreds, thousands, millions, and so on. NO!!!! They rejoice over one sinner that repents and follows Jesus. Each and every single one. Are you that one over whom they…

No Quotas Required for Salvation!

The cross is not foolishness to Christians.

Trying to explain salvation to someone can be difficult. What can we do to earn it? For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 English Standard Version In other words, we don’t “work” to earn our salvation. Yes, we follow Jesus, we do His will, but we do not have a quota of good deeds to fill. Our belief cannot be purely intellectual, however, it does involve doing God’s will, for His sake.…

(un)Holy Matrimony – Revisited

While working in another person’s house, I saw the finale to Marriage at First Sight, and it confirmed how media is serving to make marriage something “convenient”. If I caught it correctly, one couple simply had the husband say he didn’t want to be married any more (more like he didn’t want to “play husband” any more). The woman expressed feeling hurt, but what choice did she have? Well, she did have a choice…she could/should have chosen to not participate in this travesty against the holy institution of marriage. No offer for counseling was offered to my knowledge to save…

Here’s a question to the natural selection crowd: How did lightning bugs come to be? Huh? Only a Creator could think of something like that in nature. I was pondering that as I was watching lightning from some storms in the distance and the lightning bugs were flying all around. “Natural selection” would simply have another insect flying around instead of something that also is entertaining to watch.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.   Hebrews 10:31 KJV

Those who need to fear this truth are the ones that have the most to fear. Those who believe are forgiven will be held in His hands, those who do not believe will find wrath at His hands. Eternity is a mighty long time and I pray that those who do not have Jesus as their Lord and Savior will soon be able to call Him Lord and Savior. Life is truly good with His loving hands protecting us.

Should I Care about Right or Wrong?

Honestly, I do care, but sitting here listening to a popular song about needing help to make it through the night – not caring whether it is right or wrong – reminded me of our Sunday School lesson this morning. Habakkuk was asking God why He was allowing so much sin. His contemporary society, like today’s, simply had an “If it feels good, then just do it” attitude. Habakkuk wasn’t the only prophet asking this question. The lesson dealt with the fact that God has His own timeline which likely does not match what we feel proper. However, we as…

Now that Easter is over, I would like to encourage you to remember just what our Savior went through to purchase our salvation with His agony and sacrifice. His death, burial, and resurrection are just as valid today as they were last week. His love will endure forever for His followers. It is truly worth being joyful serving a risen Savior!

(un)Holy Matrimony

While working in somebody’s house today, I saw a reality show named something like Marriage at First Look, where a couple getting married sees each other for the first time literally at the alter. They are supposedly wed and then have six weeks of “married” life before deciding on whether or not they are compatible. I say “supposedly” because of the circumstances under which they are wed. Seriously, they have never seen each other until literally one or two minutes before saying “I do”. They go to bed married within six hours of meeting each other. I guess you get…

Real Easter

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.     1 Peter 1:3-5, KJV Tomorrow, April 5 is Easter Sunday. What comes to mind first when you think of Easter Sunday? Hunting Easter eggs? Coloring the…

The Cross is not Foolishness

The cross is not foolishness to Christians.

The cross is not foolishness to Christians.

As we mark the day Jesus was crucified on the cross, let us remember what Paul wrote above to the Corinthians. It is truly the power of God which raised Jesus on the morning of the third day. We serve a risen Savior!
