New Linux Watering Hole

It was actually financial, but there were so few users that I did not want to mention that fact. Tax returns were good to me this year so I wanted to try to keep it going there.

If I had a larger user base I would see about putting a PayPal Donate button there, but things will work out. I was also afraid that I would get more than what I pay for hosting.....I do the sites for fun, not profit!

Don't hesitate to use it either....that is what it is there for!!

Newbies Linux Down

Global warming is sure unreliable here.... hot one day and frigid the next! Things are starting to even out.

As far as I know, John is still around and kicking. I wrote Jewellz yesterday to check on things as I didn't want John to think I was bugging him if he was laid up.

I will be playing with the latest and greatest Beehive here shortly. It will be on a subdomain I created here. It may become the active forum (whatever that means on this site) here with this one read only.

The database is not compatible so a different forum will be required.

Oh, global warming has brought us some thunder boomers this evening.

Just checking

I'm not sure when John will get to fix things; it seems that there is a lot that needs to be done to restore it (if it can be restored) I hope the database didn't get scrambled by whatever happened.

Win machines seem to make their own time changes...... (rednose)

I don't know what NL's host uses on their servers. I imagine an open source OS however as it seems you pay extra to get proprietary (M$, that is!). Mine runs BSD the last time I looked.

Well, time to head horizontal as I have one more day of training and an extra early start.

It has been here for quite a while, then the host had database server issues that killed it off. I actually had a couple posts a day here until they changed server platforms and I guess people thought I had closed up shop before they got around to fixing it.

Feel free to use it and invite people you like.

Beehive Versions

Howdy yerself!

Was that the exploit that let someone kill Masnick's distro site? (I think it was him...) Never understood that kind of malicious activity. Although I did at one time have 'spin' on a diskette and caused some friends a bit of concern. ( "Water detected in drive A: Starting spin cycle...)

Only came back over here while cleaning bookmarks, and now I've stirred things up. (Woke Walt up out of a sound snooze on the back porch and all...)

Good to be seen, and grateful for the wishes. Best to you as well.

Oh, the noise...the noise!!! That pin made the spiders scatter. Now I can clean the cobwebs without them chewing on me.

It is in the high 70s here at the moment at 9PM eastern. Forecastfox says we are having a storm but I don't see or hear it right now.

I have to laugh about the metric system; I used to have to travel a stretch of road just south of Washington DC called Prince William Parkway. It is measured off in kilometers! Some day I'm going to meet somebody that knows why.

NL hasn't been the same since glanz died. He could keep things rolling in all folders. Maybe activity will pick back up once summer ends and people have to have virtual fun.

Talk to the Fish!! I think I know why he's holding back...there's too much to loose if things don't go correctly. Of course, John's smart enough to keep backups of the database. I guess all versions are compatible database wise.

The newest version has the ability to quote directly from the read panes in addition to the usual quote ability while writing.

BTW: I'm going to try to split this one off again and see how it does.

The powers to be knew there was to be an attack. Probably when

Bush knew. I knew that when I saw his reactions in the classroom

The rest is obfuscation and lies.

The planes were told to stand down..proably by Cheney..
A Captain came forward, and was suicided. At least "they" did not make his suicide as obvious as the one where the guy shot himself in the head..twice.

The rest is history the details we may never know, but a lot of pieces have been discovered, and there should have been a real investigation.

OH Well, it got smirky and friends what they wanted.
And brought this country close if not to ruin financially and as a Republic...all.for Oil and ego.

EVERYBODY SHOULD SEE THIS VIDEO, regardless of party, or how you feel about Iraq, or how you feel about a middle aged anti-war activist. It is about loss of civil rights, and terror tactics by the authorities. There is no way to justify the level of violence seen on the basis of the ministers actions in a free country. Maybe in a Dictatorship.
