Or, as some studies have shown. Yawning may not be as much a sign of rudeness as it is the body trying to keep the brain alert. Maybe that's why we don't yawn so much after our head hits the pillow.
Group yawning? Maybe the first yawn sends a signal that the rest of the group needs to be alert for some danger.
